Mission Heavy Equipment Training Academy, LLC (HETA) will be a leading institution of post-secondary education, offering vocational skills training in the heavy equipment operation and construction trades while maintaining a high standard of quality and integrity. HETA offers it services to the public for the purpose of helping a wide range of individuals to gain, stable and well paying employment in high demand heavy equipment operator and construction occupation. History HETA is a privately held corporation founded in 2004. It is a proprietary post secondary vocational education school designed to serve individuals, businesses and governments desiring skill and safety training. In the last decade, the use of heavy equipment and other industrial equipment on a variety of work sites has grown significantly. Demand for this equipment has meant mechanical upgrades, the addition of specialized features and more job opportunities for people to work on these machines. There is an obligation for individuals currently employed in this industry to continually update their skills to keep pace with changes in technology. New equipment operators coming into this trade require relevant training to knowledgeably and safely operate equipment. To address these needs for a safe working environment and uniform training, HETA, has chosen to accept that challenge. The methods employed in implementing this training is web-based, computer-based, virtual simulation, theory and practical training. We are also engaged in specialized industrial training, remedial training and refresher training courses tailored to individual, corporate or government needs. HETA’s, heavy equipment and mobile crane operator course work and field/practical training are National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) standardized craft training programs.

HETA, is committed to preparing all interested and eligible students for new jobs, roles, technologies and responsibilities. It is making every effort to meet the challenges of increasingly complex and diversified industries that by necessity exist and operate closer to the edge of excellence in order to thrive and prosper in a global economy. Indeed, the future of the District of Columbia depends on meeting the challenge of training its people for the workforce of the twenty-first century and equipping them with the foundation of skills, technical knowledge, personal qualities, and competencies necessary for successful participation in business and industry. HETA, is dedicated to the concept that not all members of the community can or should pursue academic post-secondary education. This society demands individuals who are well-trained and capable of not only satisfying current needs, but of growing into the ever expanding technological requirements of the future.
HETA, exists to provide educational services that will contribute to the economic growth and development of the individual, the company, and the community. HETA's purpose is to provide high quality, affordable training and opportunities for people to gain or enhance their heavy equipment ,crane or industry specific operating skills. This responsibility is met by offering the most comprehensive training and safety oriented programs available in Heavy Equipment Operations, Mobile Crane Operations, and Commercial Driver License Training. Most programs leads to National Certification and/or State Licensure. Our students, as well as our faculty and administrators are held to high standards of achievement, morality, and discipline.
HETA, employs only qualified and certified instructors who have proven experience in the particular field in which they are instructing. The HETA faculty is diverse and composed of male and female instructors. All instructors have extensive construction and/or transportation industry expertise. In addition, HETA also has the capability of conducting training in Spanish.
| Plan Our goal is to operate an vocational education school within the District of Columbia, that produces a safety conscious, professional graduate who is an immediate asset to any construction or transportation company, fulfill an industry need of future heavy equipment operators and industry specific truck drivers, and seek out opportunities for future growth and advancement.
It is our contention that through a dedicated, ambitious
faculty, a varied and multifaceted curriculum, partners and facilities capable of providing a multitude of practical experiences, our students and graduates will develop the confidence and skills to begin a rewarding career. Plenty of hands-on time operating the equipment ensures an effective learning environment. • Adapt the workforce development system for greater service and productivity in response to the changing nature of work and the phenomenal development of technology.
